Conversation with Vanesa Tomasino
It was a pleasure having conversation with Vanesa Tomasino today Vane Tomasino has been actively advocating for social issues related to youth and racial profiling in her own way. Acting and film making seem to connect human lives more than ever now. The professionals who own up and take it upon themselves, can surely help move and change the minds of people especially youth, to transition into an inclusive healthier society, towards true freedom reviving the spirit of joy, peace and a voice … no matter what, we can make it.
Vanesa Tomasino is a film and TV actress, academic, political scientist, entrepreneur, producer, and broadcaster. She has written articles supporting her causes, especially youth empowerment.
She is the founder of El Salvador's only acting studio for professional film and TV actors. She is an academic researcher for Harvard University. Vanesa is a York University Political Science PhD candidate and a SSHRC Scholar Awarded the CGS to Honour Nelson Mandela.
She has played protagonist, secondary and small roles for many movies like White Noise 2, Case 39, Chupacabra vs the Alamo, Mr. Miracle, Vice, X-files and other series and movies on channels like Hallmark, NBC, ABC, Syfy, and Lifetime.
She looks at problems to “make one rise”. She says that “going through your problems is a good thing”, “otherwise you wouldn’t learn. It doesn’t mean that you have to stay there”, “use it to your advantage”, “to become a better person”. She was bullied in school, “it was hurtful”, she cried but learnt never to let it stop her. People may judge and “project what they couldn’t do on you”. If she had listened to all those who discriminated making hurtful comments, she would not have evolved in to being what she is today. “Life is terrible” “yes “and it should not be deterrent rather to do what you must. If you are facing issues, “do not dwell on your problems they will drown you,” look outside yourself, you will be happy when you serve your community, see how you can help, how you can contribute that’s how you find who you really are, if you “stand up for nothing then you will be blown away with the wind.”
There is a lot of food for thought, self reflect and look around where our presence may make a difference in someone's life
we all can love, respect, value your and everyone's life
